When the Past Meets The Present with Luly
I took advantage of Traci’s I Voted collection to tell a family history story and how it related to the events of last week. You see I am the proud daughter and granddaughter of immigrants!
They came from a terrible dictatorship – and chose to leave everything – culture, careers and their homeland to be able to freely chose. Voting was such an important part of being a citizen for them. I have been blessed to learn such strong values from them. They never took their new home for granted and I hope that I have instilled those same values to my children as my parents did for me!
I loved being able to use Cheryl’s coordinating templates with some tweaking to show off their story! I love to add cardstock paper styles to my digi pages to add more realistic texture to my digi layouts. There were so many great elements in Traci’s kits – but I especially loved the alpha freebies (I will use those for my July 4th pages) and the friendship bracelets which go along with my recent obsession of all things Taylor Swift.
There are so many different stories that you can use this kit for – from 4th of July, Baseball games, to immigrant stories or visits to historical monuments like Washington DC or Mount Rushmore. You will see this one a lot in my albums!
