Seven Days of No Stress December Daily Prep: Day Six!
December Daily and other daily projects like it can be…stressful. The comparison is REAL and we can get lost in trying out allll the new techniques and stress ourselves out to the max trying to “keep up” with the community. I get it. I get caught up in it too. That’s why for the next 7 days I’m going to be bringing you video each day with pages using simple techniques - no special tools required - that you can add to your album to liven up your pages WITHOUT going crazy and adding stress to your already busy and stressful holiday season.
Use these ideas as-is or as a jumping off point for more complex pages if you wish!
Today I’m going to be using the Citrus Twist Kits Merry Making 12x12 Add On kit, which I was super pumped to get because of the 12x12 papers that allow for 2 side by side base pages or larger components!
But first, let me play with that VELLUM! I created a simple divider or cover page using that beautiful piece of vellum + puffy stickers. Easy-peasy and if I go into two albums, it will be a perfect intro page for album number two!
Because I had 12x12 papers, I was able to make this folded-over page with a single sheet of paper rather than using a cardstock hinge - it’s the little things! I decorated the outside of the flap with tags and die cuts.
And the inside is a nice blank canvas to build upon. Adding the gold ribbon created some texture that will make the finished page easy and interesting!
The most complicated page I made is always a fan-favorite, the waterfall page! There are full instructions in the process video, but it’s easier than it looks!
I made my bases 4.5x3.5 so I can easily add 4x3 horizontal photos. I always like to plan ahead and make sure future me has it easier by using standard sizes.
Another bonus to having 12x12 paper to work with? This GIANT envelope that houses a 6x8 page all by itself! I used my envelope punch board and a single sheet of paper to make the envelope and it’s going to be a show-stopper.
I cut the flap off the envelope so it would be open on the edge and lightly stuck it down to the 6x8 paper I put inside the envelope so I could use it later if I want to. Finally, I added the “making spirits bright” tab to the outside of the 6x8 page to use as a pull.
I had quite a few paper scraps at the end because the paper was so much larger than the norm, so I created four 3x4 cards using the leftovers + die cuts (of which there are many in the Merry Making kit!
