Seven Days of No Stress December Daily Prep: Day Seven!

December Daily and other daily projects like it can be…stressful. The comparison is REAL and we can get lost in trying out allll the new techniques and stress ourselves out to the max trying to “keep up” with the community. I get it. I get caught up in it too. That’s why for the next 7 days I’m going to be bringing you video each day with pages using simple techniques - no special tools required - that you can add to your album to liven up your pages WITHOUT going crazy and adding stress to your already busy and stressful holiday season.

Use these ideas as-is or as a jumping off point for more complex pages if you wish!

I can’t believe it! We made it to Day 7 and for this last day, I’m going to be working with the CTK Winter Magic Digital Paper, Journal Card, Digital Elements and Ephemera plus a few friends to fill in the gaps. I also cut a few of the gorgeous cut files from this release including Hello Winter and Trim the Tree and I’ll be incorporating those as well. Since. Silhouette is a “special tool,” I want to remind you that you can use any sort of die-cut embellishments and even purchase pre-cut files from certain stores. The Silhouette files are not integral to the process themselves with these pages.

Let’s get to it!

My first page is another play on a pocket page, this one opening along the side. I created a similar one on Day 4, but this one is a full-size insert and I love the addition of the half-circle pull repurposed from the notch cut out of the main paper.

When closed, it gives a fun half circle effect! The trees are actually the cut-out insides of the Trim the Tree cut file..I thought they were too cute not to use.

By far one of my favorite pages I made in this series, this heart + squares paper was perfect to make an advent calendar-style page with flaps that lift up!

I used my exact knife and scissors to cut out three sides of every other square, then used my 1” circle punch to cut a small notch at the bottom of each flap. I added the word “family” and some decor to each of the non-lifting squares and I’m super excited to use this page!

I decided a great way to use such a small collection was to make a pocket page, so I pulled out a few cards and flower die cuts from the Winter Magic printables and then some older adhesive chipboard frames that had been sitting in my stash for a while + a now-retired stamp set to add embellishments to my cards and pockets.

In order to keep the frame on the 4x6 card from fully sticking down, I used a scrap piece of packaging along the right side to sandwich between the card and frame so it’s not adhered on one side and I can stick a photo in later!

I also used a simple stories 3x4 adhesive flip up pocket to create extra space for journaling cards!

I had to sneak in just one more shaker page, this time a full 6x8 pocket! I printed one of the papers from the printables on acetate and adhered the rest of the off-cut trees to it, then added a combination of glitter and sequins to the pocket and sealed at about the 1/3 mark with my fuse tool.

I then added the "hello winter” cut file I backed with paper to the center and sealed above it with my fuse, creating 3 separate pockets. At the top, I added the rest of the acetate with the printed trees and glitter, then sealed the top with my fuse as well!

The printed trees leave a gorgeous subtle screen between the pages!

Finally, I created cards from the scraps and die cuts! The “Warm Memories” card was actually a 3x8 bookmark I cut down to a 3x4 and added snowflakes to!
