October Daily 2022: Days 23-28

I WILL finish this project! Here are days 23-28!

Day 23

You have to be of a certain age to eagerly buy Snoop Dogg’s champagne for anniversary mimosas and here we are 😂 My marriage is officially 18 years old and old enough to vote!

For this page in my October daily, I started with two foundation pages I made with my Goldenrod collection earlier this month, which made it really easy to just embellish on top! I wanted to get a little creative though and pulled out a stamp from Cocoa Daisy to make my own tag to match the acrylic piece from Color Cast Designs using Mandarin Spice ink from Catherine Pooler.

I also played with texture by interspersing die cut leaves from Citrus Twist Kits with wood veneer leaves also from Color Cast Designs.

All in all, it came together pretty quickly thanks to my Goldenrod Foundation Pages!

Day 24

This layout is deceptively simple because I did most of the work, including creating BOTH collages (square album covers and divided record image) in photoshop before I ever started filming.

I knew that these two pieces created a statement all unto themselves so I kept the rest minimal, using the Mazatlan sequin mix from Catherine Pooler to make a glittery border around my album and then hiding the lyrics I’m highlighting from each song on the album in the tabbed pull outs.

Lastly, I added my journaling on the outside of the album pieces. All my journaling and the gradients applied match the album itself - little details that only someone like me would notice, I’m sure 🤪

Day 25-26

When you have 3 kids, sometimes it’s hard to spend time with just one, so when I have the opportunity, I take it! Just my middlest was home from school one day so we took the chance to go costume shopping, which involved Spirit Halloween for him and thrifting for me (with some added goodies for him, of course)

This year's Halloween theme in the Reed household was "anything for a laugh" so we have a wacky-wavy-inflatable-arms guy with matching used car salesman, and Pope-siah with the Barack Obible.

It was definitely on-brand for this kid and everyone loved it!

This layout is proof that you don't have to use Halloween themed product for halloween pages, as I used the Doodles & Dashes 2 Collection from Cocoa Daisy because it matched so well!

Day 27

Sometimes, simple is best, and I love using large photos to make things REAL simple! In our 20 years together, we’ve never bought ourselves a bedroom set and, me being me, when I decided that we were going to start working on our bedroom and gift ourselves bedroom furniture for our anniversary, I couldn’t just buy a bedroom set, I had to mix and match all the pieces, from the furniture to the curtain rods to the sheets, in a way that made me happy.

So after all that work, OF COURSE it gets blown up to a full size photo!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But where to put the journaling? Ahhhh my old hidden journaling trick for the win!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I used 2 cards from the Autumn Thicket Collection from Cocoa Daisy for my journaling, some older sequins, letter stickers and done!

Day 28

We have a standing tradition every year to get holiday donuts from Krispy Kreme and we almost missed it this year! But I snuck it in on a little solo date with my youngest - phew!

I decided to use my Sweet ‘n Spooky Patterned paper pack I designed for Catherine Pooler to make some donuts, which became the star of the show and made the rest easy-peasy!

Veneer by Color Cast Designs, stickers by Simple Stories.
