November Theme: Gratitude

We all know that in the paper crafting world, November follows the US Thanksgiving vibe and everything is all about gratitude! Sometimes the thought of doing a huge album like a #Thankful30 or a day-by-day gratitude project can be daunting, so the Heather and Stacy are here to bring you two gorgeous examples of how you can create a gratitude project that isn’t a big time commitment!

Heather - Goldenrod

My project for the gratitude theme is a project within a project.  I used the Goldenrod collection to create some gratitude cards to give to my students a few days before Thanksgiving.  As a teacher, we have a lot on our plates…grading, lesson planning, parent contact, etc.  It can be difficult to find time to do extras, but I made the time for this extra project.

I want my students to know that I am grateful to have them in my class. I made the gratitude cards on Canva.com.  I plan to have them printed at a 4 x 6 inch size and place them on my students’ desks for them to find when they come into class.  Traci’s designs are beautiful and made creating the cards incredibly fast and easy.  I’d love to be able to make handmade cards for each student, but that would be 115 cards, and I definitely do not have time for that.  Being able to create using the digital files, made this project very feasible.

Once the cards were designed, I printed one of each design off and took a picture of them.  To document making these cards, I printed some of the Goldenrod papers to back a cut file.  I added a few of the sticker elements, and even dug deep into my stash to find a product from years ago to add a finishing touch to the pumpkin.  Do you remember Twistel?  The best thing about this project was the joyful feeling of creating and knowing that I’ll be sharing that joy with my students.  I know that a lot of them won’t be super impressed, but if even one student has a better day because of this small gesture, it will be worth it.

Stacy - Goldenrod

Does it ever seem that you are so overwhelmed with all your projects but you know that you would love to do a gratitude / or a thankful 30 journal? It is possilble! Sometimes you just have to think outside the box, so to speak, and utilize the things that are available to you and "junk it up" or "scrap/hybrid it"

What I love to do is find journals or - fill in the blanks and get my favorite digital kits and make them my own, like I did for my 2022 gratitude journal using one of my Favorite Traci Reed collections- Goldenrod!

I can't wait to see how this progresses and also have the value of not having to stress over one more project!
