Create a Waterfall Valentine's Card with the Love Potion Collection!
As soon as I saw Love Potion, I knew that I wanted to create a Valentine card for my husband with it. I also have been wanting to create a waterfall card for a while so decided to combine the two!
I grabbed a 4x8” card blank from my stash and attached one of the patterned papers to it as the background. I decided to use the hearts to make my waterfall so chose one of the hearts in the sticker pack and sized it to fit my card which worked out at 3.25” high. Once I had done this, I duplicated the heart so I had five of them and then dropped into each heart a patterned paper from the 6x4 patterned card collection. I then duplicated all five hearts, flipped them horizontally and filled them with the red solid to be the back of the hearts. You could just print out one of the hearts and use it as a template on the patterned cards and solid paper.
I stuck the red hearts to the back of each patterned heart and then grabbed a piece of cardstock 12”x3.25” (the width of my heart at its widest point). I took one of the hearts and placed it at the bottom of the card and marked a pencil line at the top of it. Above this line I drew another 4 lines, each 0.5” apart and scored them.
I placed liquid glue on the top curves of my first (bottom) heart and stuck it against the edge (just below) the first score line.
I repeated this with each of the other 4 hearts, moving up to the score line above each time. Once I had done this, I folded the last score line over so that the back piece of card folds behind the hearts. There will be card showing below the bottom heart, this is the pull for the waterfall. I cut this into a rounded point.
I grabbed a second piece of cardstock, 1”x7.5” to make the belly band. This is wrapped around both pieces of white card and stuck under the bottom heart, sticking the heart and bellyband to the top card.
I then put glue onto the belly band on the back of the card and stuck it to my patterned paper. Make sure you are ONLY sticking the belly band to the patterned paper or otherwise the waterfall won’t work.
It was then just a case of decorating the hearts with stickers from the pack and I also added some photos. I added one of the bows to the bottom of the pull to make it easier to see where to pull.
I decorated the inside with some of the solid red paper, a journalling card and a sticker.
And there you have it! A waterfall Valentine’s card using Love Potion.
