Tutorial: Go Bold with I Voted + Big Words Templates!
Creating this layout was such a fun process, combining both digital and physical elements with the I Voted Collection and the coordinating Big Words - Voting Edition templates (also available as cut files) by Fiddle Dee Dee Designs. I wanted a bold statement piece for documenting this family voting moment, and the "POWER TO THE PEOPLE" design really captured the energy I was aiming for. To start, I used the template in Photoshop to design my layout digitally, layering papers and elements from the collection to get the patriotic red, white, and blue look I envisioned.
Once I had the digital version looking just right, I transferred the template over to Silhouette Studio to turn it into a cut file. By separating out each layer onto an 8.5x11 sheet to create my own cut sheets, I was able to cut out the large title letters and intricate embellishments with my Silhouette machine allowed me to bring the digital design to life with physical textures and layers, creating a hybrid page that feels both dynamic and dimensional.
The I Voted collection was perfect for this project, packed with everything from bold stars and stripes to empowering word art and embellishments that reflect the importance of voting. I loved how easy it was to mix and match the patterns and elements to create a layout that felt uniquely mine while staying true to the theme. The versatility of this collection makes it great not only for voting-related layouts but also for any patriotic project where you want to capture the spirit of civic pride and community.
What I especially enjoyed was how the bold red, white, and blue colors paired with the playful patterns to give this layout a celebratory vibe. Between the layered flowers, star accents, and meaningful journaling spots, the page tells a story of family, unity, and the importance of using our voices. This collection and template together made it easy to create a powerful, memorable layout that I’ll always treasure!
