TRD Sketchy Sunday #58
Hey Hey Hey! We’re back with another fantastic sketch prompt for you today and the team is just FULL of inspiration! Check it out!
I designed this sketch with an ombre or color-blocking effect going down the page, and I think everyone absolutely nailed it!

Traci - Flower Child
It’s been a while since I used one of my own sketches (I’ve been in a bit of a scrapping slump - boooo) but this one with its graduated color was calling to me…so, of course, I barely even followed the color scheme! 😂. This sketch was great for getting a lot of paper on the page and I love that it uses 3 3x4 photos so I could fit all the images of this mural on one page easily! The Flower Child collection was a perfect match color-wise but also because I made the kit for my 40th birthday and these photos are of my 40th birthday trip!

Becky - The Manuscript
I love sketches and this one was perfect for these three photos I had of my Great Aunt’s 100th birthday celebrations. I picked The Manuscript to use and had fun with the ombré effect in black and white and using embellishments to coordinate with each color strip. I used embellishments from both the sticker pack and the digital collection and to add dimension added some gems in black and silver. Some glitter dots in silver for the butterfly trails and a silver Thicker from my stash finished this off nicely!
Caroline - The Love List
Oh I had so much fun with this sketch!! I’m usually a print and cut girl but with this I decided to play in Photoshop first using digital papers from the Love List collection (one of my all time faves of Traci’s!!) and I created all of the elements that I needed for the project in there - the paper strips in an ombré, thinner strips for on top, photo mat etc. I knew I wanted to work in my Travelers Notebook so I was able to resize everything accordingly in there to cut out on any waste. I also knew I wanted lots of the chipboard hearts as my embellishment so simply duplicated them in there to have the amount I needed. Once all that was done I then printed out all the layers, cut out the individual strips and embellishments and assembled together in my TN with lots of texture and I LOVE it! I can’t wait to see what the others in the team make with this fun sketch!!
Luly - Hygge Season
I loved Traci’s Hygge Season collection and all of the beautiful embellishments. Sketch #58 was the perfect way to highlight some of my favorites. Still trying to catch up on last year’s project life album - and I had a few photos that didn’t really belong with any other stories but I still wanted to document. Changing photos to black & white is a great to create cohesion, document memories and play with all the pretty bits of a kit!
Danica - All Is Bright
I just adore this sketch from Traci! As soon as I saw it I knew what I wanted to do with it and which photos to use. I went through Traci’s entire catalogue to find elements/papers to create a monochromatic peach ombre layout. It was easy to find peach colored papers and elements of various shades to a degree. Some I recolored or tweaked a bit. If you want more information on how to recolor elements check out my tutorial HERE.
I used the following collections to create my layout: Bookish, Flower Child, Hearth and Hollow, Rooted, Smitten, All is Calm, Felicity, Golden Rod, Harvest Moon, Hygge Season, and Radiate Joy. For my title I used an ombre action from Mommyish. The only issue I had was when Photoshop Elements crashed and I lost all my elements and papers that I had pulled from the kits. Please forgive me if I missed crediting something. Hope you like my layout as much as I do!
