Raechelle - Hearth & Hollow
This layout came together quickly, thanks to the delightful sketch, and was created featuring the Hearth & Hollow collection. The colors were perfect for these darling photos of our newest granddaughter. I tried to stay true to the sketch, but added a few more photos to fill the space. A few stickers from the Goldenrod and October Mood collections, which match wonderfully, finished this precious layout.
Nicole - Goldenrod
Hey all! Nicole here with my take on the sketch today! I actually turned the sketch upside down to make this fun page using the Goldenrod collection. I am using the papers and the ellies here to document my daughter just being beautiful. I have a couple of clusters and I used the ellie “nuts about you” for my title. This collection with the colors of my photo beautifully! I hope you are inspired to create something fun with this sketch as well!
Ronelia - Festive
For this Sketchy Sunday I decided to change it up and do a 6.75 x 8.25 layout, and I decided to tell a non-festive story with Festive. One thing I had to keep in mind while creating this layout was to not have it look too cluttered. For this reason I scaled down the size of the title and I moved my journaling to underneath the fold. I made sure to add a non traditional Christmas colour using Bundled Sage Distress Oxide to match the colour of the dinosaur in my main photo. This meant that the layout looked more “Dinosaur”, less “Holiday Season”. I used Bundled Sage for the mixed media background and also on some punched stars and strips. I finished the layout with some glittery enamel dots, for texture. The “fold” is propped up with a bit of foam tape in the centre for added dimension.
Caroline - Candy Coated Christmas
When I saw this sketch I knew I wanted to create a foundation page for my December Daily album. I also knew I wanted to use the gorgeous Candy Coated Christmas alongside that amazing white Woodgrain from an older TRD collection. Knowing this was for December Daily helped me choose my canvas size - two pages 4.25” wide and both 8.25” tall. This sketch was easy to split vertically down the centre with two photos on the left page and one larger one on the right. I opted for horizontal, torn paper layers rather than the triangular fold and I tucked placeholder ‘photos’ in these pockets.
I moved the embellishments so they cascaded diagonally down from the top left to the lower right - spanning both pages of the spread. I love the result and how they pull the two pages together.
When I work with this in my album I will add my journalling directly to the Woodgrain paper in the place it is on the sketch. I may add a title above the photo on the right side or I may not have a title.
Once again another FAB sketch from Traci - always so fun to work with her sketches!
Luly - Festive
Hello everyone. I was super inspired to create with this weeks sketch to create a page for my December Daily using Festive. I’ve already done some fun holiday related items that I will add into my album when I don’t have a “fun” story to tell. I don’t feel like my DD album have to be totally chronological ~ some days I have multiple stories to tell and I’m also ok splitting it up over several entries! Don’t feel limited to telling stories on the actual day they happen!
Back to the sketch… I loved the folded/rolled element and the stars. Since I have a smaller page size (7”x 8 1/4”) and I wanted to keep my photos as large as possible I added all the fun stars to the white cardstock background and added a flip up to one of my smaller photos. I’ll likely pair this with more photos on the left side but I will wait to see what day it falls to see if it will be a pocket page or a full page outside of a page protector.
