Stretch your Stash! Creative Ways to use Collage Cards on 12x12 Layouts with Danica!
Traci has these great collage cards in her shop. If you haven’t seen them yet, you should definitely check them out! If you are a pocket page scrapper, they are a great way to add more photos to your layouts. I create traditional 12x12 digital layouts and I wanted to show you how easy they are to incorporate into your layouts. And they’re not just for photos!
In my first layout, I used two cards from the 4x6 Collage Cards 3 as well as the Aflutter collection.
One of the cards I used as a photo mat. This is a very easy thing to incorporate into your pages. You can either use one of the spots on the card as a photo spot, and the other spots you can fill with different papers. (This is how I used the card on my layout.) Another variation would be to fill all the spots with papers and place the photo on top of the card using the collage card as a photo mat.
I also used one of the collage cards to make a border for my layout with the triangle card. I selected a row of triangles, pulled them off the background layer of the card, and placed them on my background layer. Then I selected all the triangles on my page, duplicated them, and moved this layer to continue the border to the edge of the layout. After that I just clipped papers to the triangles. Easy peasy!
For my second layout I used the same technique that I used for the triangle border on the previous layout. I used one of the cards from the 4x6 Collage Cards 3 pack and the following collections Equinox and Radiate Joy. The card I selected this time was the one containing all the hexagons. This is a fun card because you can do so many things with it. Once again I pulled the hexagon shapes off the background layer. I then duplicated and arranged them until I had a pattern that I liked. After that, all you have to do is clip your papers to the hexagons.
