Vanessa - Renewal

Tara has so many beautiful layouts it was hard to pick just one to scrap lift. The layout I decided on had a large circle in the middle of the layout which caught my eye. I wanted to create a layout using a large circle for my scrap lift. I chose to use the renewal collection for my layout, and I decided to distress my papers instead of stitching. I think the overall layout stays true to Tara’s layout and I love the result.

Tara - Keep Chasing Rainbows

The original layout I chose from Tara’s beautiful collection of layouts features four awesome photos that take an opportunity to tell her story through photos. She also uses lots of visual texture - through her embellishments, the mixed media feel, and the punched papers - which I love as well! I didn’t venture far from her original page design, but there were differences in how I laid those out on my page. Working with the Fierce collection from Traci Reed Designs, I’ve used several digital elements on the printed background, where Tara used patterned papers. While her background is fairly monochromatic, mine is filled with all the colors of the rainbow. Where her background has black and white faint print text showing through, I’ve used rainbows again to incorporate the rainbows into my layout. Where she did use a colorful banner across her page, I brought in my title with white puffy alphas and the rainbow numbers. Both layouts are gloriously visual and colorful, and both layouts keep the strong focus on the photos to tell wonderful stories. Thank you Tara, for the inspiration!

Ronelia - Our Story Matters

For my scrap lift of Tara I was really drawn to this large photo layout that she did for the My Story Matters release. I also decided to use the same collection to document my daughter’s 7th Birthday party. I loved how front and centre the photo was on Tara’s layout and this is one of my favourite photos from the party, so I had to use it.

Donna - Our Story Matters

I chose to scraplift this layout of Tara’s with a circular stitched design. I have always found this layout design easy to decorate, so I picked it. For the mask, I used a scatter brush (default) and followed along the circular shape (also a default shape in Photoshop). Then I chose 3 photos and placed them as seen in Tara’s layout. Then, I used all the flowers, stickers, and other embellishments in the Our Story Matters kit to decorate the layout.

Cheryl - Island Time

Tara’s body of work is so beautiful that it made it hard to pick just one layout to scraplift. However, in the end, I chose her layout “Here Comes Fun.” I also decided to use beach photos, but where she had one photo, I chose to place two photos, replacing the index file cards with a portrait size photograph. I kept the same main clusters at the bottom left and top right of the layout, and also kept my title work in the same location. I kept Tara’s layout on my Photoshop canvas for a bit while placing the photos and main clusters, but then turned visibility off on the image and started adding things that I felt went with my photos. I chose an older collection by Traci called Island Time. The colors and embellishments were perfect for highlighting the photos of my daughter at the beach back in 2013. I also chose to layer papers in the background rather than have a mostly solid background. There are so many amazing layout artists that create for Traci.
