We’ve been traveling quite a bit lately which means I’ve gotten behind with my trip albums. Last trip, I made a recap page for each day and, even though I haven’t gotten to that album yet, I love that I already have those recap pages done to use as a guide.

With our recent trip to San Diego, I wanted to take this a step further and have my cover and recap pages ready to go before the trip. Traci’s Island Time collection is perfect for this trip and the pages came together so quickly!

First the cover:

I print my pages in 8x10 photo books and I like to keep my covers simple. I love the vibrant blues and greens in this collection and I pulled them out to make my cover.

Our trip officially starts on a Wednesday, but I usually don’t make recap pages for travel days. So my first recap/divider page is for Thursday:

We have three full days in San Diego this trip and as luck would have it, Traci included three sets of alphas in this collection! I chose a different color to base each day’s page around. For Thursday I chose the green. I’m sightseeing on my own that day and will add photos to the two blank spaces and some bullet point journaling to the card on the bottom right.

Next is Friday:

I’m not sure what we’re doing during the day this day, but that evening, we’re going to the Padres game and I thought the yellow in the orange alpha would make it a good color choice for this day.

And finally, Saturday:

I saved the gorgeous blue alpha for this day. We’re starting our day on a whale watching tour and ending it on Coronado Island. I’ll add my bullet point journaling to the tag I added over the top right photo.

And now that we’re back from the trip, I can’t wait to show you how my pages worked out!

First of all, the cover… I had fully intended to leave the background white. This was the one page I thought I was completely done with before the trip, BUT… when I was going through my photos, I thought this one would make a perfect background for my cover. I scooted my title up a bit and it was perfect! The colors couldn’t have been a more perfect match!

My recap pages came together quickly too. I just added photos and some bullet points about our days…

Saturday was supposed to be a whale watching tour, but the company canceled on us on Thursday due to weather. Even though I set this up with whale watching in mind, this page still worked well for what we ended up doing that day though…
