Telling Your Own Story with Our Story Matters
I bought my first DSLR back in 2010. I had only had it a short time, so I was still practicing. We went to my dad’s to see my siblings, and I was behind that camera the entire time, living my best life. My daughter Olivia was using my old Canon Powershot, and she took these photos of me focusing intently on taking photos. I’ve long since left my Nikon behind, and use a Canon mirrorless camera. Honestly, my Google Pixel phone is always with me and takes amazing photos, so I find myself taking photos with it more than anything else these days. No matter what device I’m using, I am the storyteller of our lives.
I love that I have these photos to document this part of my storytelling journey. I decided to place them in a vertical line down the right side of the layout. This is my fourth layout using Our Story Matters, and it is so chock full of amazing pieces that I was able to create completely unique layouts. On this layout, I chose every piece of word art or word strips that referenced me being a photographer. I created three clusters - one at the top left, one at the middle right, and one at the bottom left. I then added three labels to go along with my three photos and my three clusters. I then told my story of these photos. I placed a frame element on top of my middle photo to highlight the one photo where my face isn’t jammed behind the camera. LOL
I encourage you to have someone take photos of you taking pictures, or even set up a camera or phone to make your own selfies. You can then tell your story about being the photographer, and Our Story Matters is the PERFECT collection to help you tell your photography story.
