Mix It Up Monday: Over The Moon + Smitten
Hello and welcome to the Twentieth edition of our fun series: Mix It Up Monday! Today the we’re combining Over The Moon and Smitten collections! These two collections coordinate beautifully, as they feel like masculine and feminine versions of the same theme, so the team had a ton of fun combing them together!
Check out the team’s examples below and I can’t wait to see you mix these three collections up too!

The Over The Moon and Smitten collections coordinate beautifully together. I love the deeper richer colors of the Over The Moon paired with the softer colors in smitten. For my layout I wanted to mix and match some of the florals and pattern papers from both collections. I started by grabbing my banner punch and papers from both collections to create a fun pattern filled background. Next came the clustering where I pulled florals from both collections. I love how the rich blues of Over The Moon pop when mixed with the Smitten florals. Overall, these two collections pair perfectly giving you lots of fun options to create pages you will love.

I really enjoyed the challenge of combining the new Over The Moon collection with last year’s Smitten collection. Over The Moon doesn’t include any pink which is unusual but refreshing for a valentines collection. Smitten, however, had lots of it! So combining the two together was a great way to bring pink into my spread. I wanted to focus mainly on the gorgeous blue that is in Over The Moon as it matches the blue in my Besties hair perfectly! I also wanted to be sure to keep a soft, feminine feel and the travellers notebook signature on the right hand side was the perfect way to do that. That page also brought in floral motifs and I decided to layer up my florals and brought in some lovely reds and pinks from Smitten to add dimension and colour tones. I decided to bring in a couple of heart motif papers too - one from Smitten and one from Over The Moon - both cut into tags and I think they work so well together. Finally I really loved bringing in the tiny hearts from Smitten as confetti in my embellishment clusters.
I think you’ll agree that these two collections work so well together, and as I said it’s a great way to bring pink into Over The Moon if you feel like you need some!!!

Using Smitten and Over The Moon together was such a lot of fun. I knew I wanted to use this photo of one of our cats, Jimmy, as he is ‘so very sweet’ – the perfect title! The blue moon paper from Over The Moon was a perfect background paper and I then paired it with some of the 6x4 cards from both collections using the ones containing red and light blue and a pop of woodgrain from Smitten. I chose to use only the red and light blue stickers from Smitten as they go really well with the Over The Moon stickers. To give some depth I bumped the title up on foam pads and did the same to some of the gorgeous balloon stickers. I finished off with some Nuvo drop and added my journalling. Using 2 kits together like this is such a good way to stretch your stash!

The beautiful blues and reds from the Over The Moon and Smitten collections blend so well together and served as the basis for these fun Valentine hearts. The pops of pink from Smitten were perfect accents and helped pull this fun project together! Each heart incorporates a TN paper from both collections, either as a base scallop heart or the main top heart, as well as utilizing the coordinating Stickers. I would have never thought to use blue for Valentine’s day crafting, but I’m sold now!

For today’s “Mix it up Monday,” I went to my 2 favorite things: 1, making the 3x4 cards super tiny, so that they can fit into trading card page protectors (so around 2.5 in and 3.5in!) and 2, ringed mini books! I printed off some extra pages with the cards formatted to fit in the smaller pockets, and decided to make a mini … mini album! I went all lovey dovey with this one, because I fully intend on putting in some cute, small black and white pictures of my husband and I, and give him this little Valentine’s Day gift!
To bind this one, I used a pink book ring and then added some cute tassels and ribbon to match the two collections I was combining. To further pull in each of the collections into each other (but seriously, these two work soooo well together!), I also printed some papers from each of the collections on the back of the cards. I just mixed and matched as I went, making sure the collections were mixed up, and punched a single hole punch at the top, weaved them through the book ring, and ta-da! Easy mini book base!
