Inky Ideas with Evy - Weekender Embroidery Hoop Album
Good morning creative friends! Today I'll keep you company with a very effective project, a mix between mini album and memory box.
I often happen to spend a weekend, or a day, away from home. Of course I always take pictures but often they are too few for an album and too many to scrap individually. This frame is perfect for storing your photos, but not only that, you can also insert concert tickets, small souvenirs such as receipts and tickets.
I decided to keep the photos taken on an April day, we went for a walk by the sea and I took several photos because it was a windy but wonderful day. It was also the first time at the beach with my dogs and it was exciting to see them having so much fun.
The Weekender collection with its colors goes perfectly with my photos and I enjoyed mixing it with embellishments from my favorite collection ever (Anywhere But Here), but I wanted a slightly different shape and I thought of an embroidery hoop. I don't even know how to hold a needle in my hand but I have always been fascinated by embroidery hoops and I collect them in all possible sizes.
I decided to color the wood of the frame with blue acrylic paint, matching the papers and photos.
I applied ribbon with pom poms to the back
With the same paper as the back I created the cover (which also acts as a lid). The cover is held in place by a simple white string that is passed between the 2 hoops of the embroidery hoop.
Inside I will insert my photos keeping the shape of the circle but you can play as you prefer and also put a small bound album if you prefer.
To help me with the circles, I used a die for the internal pages, while for the external ones I simply traced the outline of the embroidery frame with a pencil. You can of course also use a cutting machine, creating the diameter or a circle tool.
I can't wait to know what you think and see your projects!
XoXo, Evy
