Making a Staggered Mini Album using 6x4 Patterned Cards with Ronelia!
I made the foundation of this adorable mini album using ONLY the stunning 6x4 patterned cards, and journaling cards from the Hygge Season collection.
I started by selecting which papers I wanted to use, and knowing that they will be staggered, I tried line them up so that no two of the same colours were next to one another, I also tried to put busy papers next to less busy papers, and I also tried to not have to papers using the same pattern (like plaid) next to each other. Once I was done I selected the backing paper too, because each page was going to be double sided.
I added piece of chipboard behind my front page and behind my back page to add a little bit of structure. Then I started sticking my chosen papers back to back. I got a bit confused at this stage and I kept messing up the order, but I was happy with what I ended up with.
Not including the front and back papers there were 5 sheets in this little album, so I started to cut down my pages starting from the back, and working my way to the front. I cut off about a centimetre to start with. I knew that, when I added the border punch, some more will be taken off. I then went at it with my border punch (which was actually super hard because of the back to pack papers glued together). I love the texture this created. I made sure to punch my holes before embellishing.
Then it was time to decorate! I used some thickers from my stash to add the title on the front cover, and the year on the inside cover. I started by adding some quote cards and journaling cards to every second page and then added some more in between. I really just went with my gut here. I made sure to leave plenty of space for photos. I glued in some stickers from the sticker sheets too.
We are in the middle of summer on this side of the hemisphere so there aren’t many cozy moments to share just yet, but I made sure that, whenever I glued a sticker down, I only added glue to the bottom or top edges which means that my photos will be ale to be tucked underneath.
I am really excited to start adding photos of some 2024 Cozy Moments.
