December Daily 2020: Day 24

Our family had a very rough Christmas Eve when our precious fur baby Loki went into heart failure. It was an awful 24 hours, but even though his prognosis was grim, he’s a fighter and got to come home the next day - on Christmas! I’m so thankful that he’s still here and this is DEFINITELY my Christmas Eve story.

I started by printing out the story of his hospitalization on one side of a tag, and then kept the other side of the tag light with my usual snark about Loki “pulling a grinch” and his heart growing 3 sizes for Christmas Eve, paired with his chest X-rays.

I decided to store that tag + the hospital bill and this decorative tag that says “all I want for Christmas is you” from a Catherine Pooler stamp set in this large folder pocket I created using papers from my #StayHome for the Holidays collection. I was so happy to finally have somewhere to use that “Home for the Holidays” paper I’ve been saving - though I wish it were under less stressful circumstances!

“All I Want for Christmas is You” is the perfect sentiment for this page!

On the otherr side of the folder, I created a collage using some older ephemera, an envelope I randomly created earlier in the month + a card from Kristin Cronin-Barrow.

The final portion of the spread was a pocket page that included two photos of us taking Loki HOME from the hospital. I didn’t want to distract from the photos with typical stickers, so I added some acetate pieces over them instead.

Lastly, I added one of the cards from the #StayHome for the Holidays collection that seemed to be perfect for this page as well!
