Ways to Work it Wednesday: Hearts!
Hearts are a go-to when it comes to scrapbooking, they’re just so easy to incorporate and reflect the emotions of the page so well! Today though, we’re showing you ways to get more creative with hearts than just plopping heart die cuts on the page! Check it out!

My ten year old daughter Fay is always crafting. Lately she makes everyone these super cute paper hearts. I knew I wanted to add them to one of my pages so she taught me how to fold them.
We made an video for you so you can learn it to!
Normally I print my digital kits on a bit heavier paper but to get nice flat hearts instead of bulky I used normal copy paper this time to print papers from the My Person collection.
You can vary the size paper you start with. I used 3.5 inch, 3 inch, 2.5 inch and 1 inch squares.
These hearts also make a cute valentines card.

Larissa - Heart Embellishments
One thing I love to create is embellishments, but sometimes I find it hard to use them afterwards. That’s why I came up with an embellishment idea and I am also showing you how to use them (one example of many).
I decided to create some hand stitched heart embellishments using the hearts from the My Person collection and use them as packaging decoration mainly. The key thing here is to add layers and texture to your heart without using much stuff.
I layered two hearts and a button, and just attached them to a glassine bag with a small clothespin. The good thing about these hearts is that you can use them in many different ways: you can make a banner to decorate your desk, use it in a layout, embellish a photo to gift it away, the possibilities are endless!
Danica - Heart Petals
I love Traci’s My Person collection and wanted to do something unique with all the fun hearts she has in it. I used the shamrock that Fiddle Dee Dee has in her Top of the Morning templates as the base of my flower because to me shamrocks are just hearts that are joined together. I used the word strip from the template as the stem of the flower.
After that, I used an assortment of hearts Traci has in her collection for the petals of the flower. To add a bit of variation in the petals a took the outline heart embellishment in the collection and duplicated it four times making a loop. I finished my flower with some arrows in the collection as well as a heart flair.
It would be very easy to change the size of the flowers by adding or subtracting layers of hearts or using hearts of the same size. Hearts with the same patterns or color could be used for a monochromatic look. The flowers could be repeated in a background or even can be used as a frame for a photo.
Stephanie - Stitched Hearts
I wanted to showcase the heart stickers from the My Person collection. I placed them in a column alongside each photo and stitched down the center of the hearts, which allowed me to pop up the edges. This gave me the dimension I was looking for to help bring your eyes to each of the clusters,
I finished the layout with frames opposite each cluster to house my journaling and my title. The My Person collection really helped me to document my special day and the heartfelt emotions behind it.
