Weekender Mini Album by Becky!
When Traci showed us her new collection, Weekender, I knew immediately that I wanted to have a go at making a mini album using a hinge system for the binding and those beautiful TN signatures.
There are lots of videos out there showing how to create these types of albums but the first thing I did was to choose which of the TN signatures I wanted to use and then put them in order for my album.
I also used some of the TN papers. For two of my pages I left the right side open to make a pocket which allowed me to add more photos and journalling and more TN signatures.
Once I had created my pages it was time to stick down those photos and embellish. I used lots of embellishments from the sticker pack and as the hinge is quite wide I was able to add dimension to the outer pages with foam behind some of the embellishments (I kept the ones in the pockets flat so that they would still fit!).
I also added some gems, enamel dots and baker’s twine from my stash for more texture. It was then time to put the album together. I had created the covers with white card and before I added my paper I inked all the edges which would show with Distress Oxide - outside with Abandoned Coral and inside with Dried Marigold.
This allowed me to add more TN signatures and papers with a nice inked border. On the front cover I chose three of the 3x4 cards to create a cluster with the top card becoming the title. This was complemented with a couple of clusters of the stickers.
I did a similar job on the spine. To complete the album I added a brad front and back to which I tied some ribbon to enable me to close the album.
This was such a fun project to make and actually really quite easy. I have already made a second one using Aflutter, Traci’s last collection, which I can’t wait to give to my daughter-in-law as I’ve filled it with photos of her daughter!
