Make a Splash with a Strung Title with Traci

If you’re not new around here, you know that when I use digital alphabets, I often like to print them so the letters are overlapping and I can glue them down as one large title rather than individual letters to save time and make sure my placement is perfect. It’s one of my hybrid scrapbooking hacks that I love!

However, some layouts call for individual letters and the “Pacifica” title on this layout using the digital alphabet from the True North collection is one of them!

There are 6 color variation of the corrugated cardboard alpha in the True North collection, all with a little jump ring already built into the design. For my page, I chose to alternate the white and navy colors to create my title and using an awl, I poked holes in the center of each jump ring and strung the title with navy and white baker’s twine.

You can see that in between each letter, I let the twine rise off the page for some fun shadows/height.

I stuck one end of the twine under the whale, but the other end has a bow. I also angled the letters here and there so it looked like they were looping with the string a bit. Finally, I added some of the extra baker’s twine in a couple places on the layout to repeat that texture.

Lastly, I just wanted to show off one more neat trick! I printed two copies each of these folded stars from the True North digital kit, then on one copy, cut just the center star out, then popped it up on a pop dot over the original star to get some lift off the page and more depth! You can see a similar process with the flower too!
