Mix It Up Monday: Weekender + Anywhere But Here
Hello and welcome to the twelfth edition of our fun series: Mix It Up Monday! Today we’re combining two collections that were MEANT to go together, Weekender and Anywhere But Here! I designed the Weekender collection to coordinate perfectly with and add on to the Anywhere But Here collection, extending the travel them wonderfully and as you’ll see, the team had no problem working the two together!
Check out the team’s examples below and I can’t wait to see you mix these two collections up too!

The Weekender and the Anywhere But Here collections fit together beautifully. The two collections have similar color schemes which make combining them effortless. I decided to pull papers from both collections to create my layout and then did the same with the embellishments. The combination of elements creates a fun and colorful layout.

I had an idea what to scrap so when I looked at both the Weekender and Anywhere But Here kit, I knew I could make it work. I had a map travel idea so I started off with the map from Anywhere But Here kit. From then, I used various embellishments to show the starting and ending point of our trip. Both kits had everything I needed to complete my layout.

I would have to say that this Mix it up Monday has been a BREEZE!! So if you are looking for TWO kits that blend together seamlessly you have found them right here!! I am currently working on a travel album for our Trip to Chicago and I was able to keep creating spreads so well after using just Weekender to start it! The cloud papers paired with Traci’s always amazing basics that are always incorporated into her kits (the black and white stripes from Anywhere But Here kit ) worked together so well you would never know that I am taking pieces from two different kits! When I was looking for a bit of a softer feel I would look through the Anywhere But Here kit but when I need bold pieces I could turn towards the Weekender Kit! Very well blended!

I always love a great travel collection! The recent release of Weekender has me excited about travel layouts, and it pairs perfect with Anywhere But Here! This amazing wood grain map inspired me to create a page about all the places on the globe that I have lived in my life. In order to keep all of the information on this page well organized, I narrowed down the details that needed to go on the page. I chose photos from each place that represent those areas from Shutterstock and sized them to fit onto tags.
Another way I kept it from becoming too confusing is by making the map patterned paper the central element, with the title and tags above and below. Fun enamel dots (Maggie Holmes) make it easy to identify the locations on the map. Placing the tags in chronological order helps create a loose timeline. The geotag labels were perfect for adding dates and locations along with some little word sentiments that add a bit of how I feel about each place. This is a great way to document this sort of story, especially if you don’t have photos from all the places you’ve lived! Happy crafting!

Anywhere But Here and Weekender are the perfect combination because not only do they have very similar color palettes, the theme is also identical. Therefore, one can’t go wrong with mixing and matching the two. For my page, I picked mostly blues and greens to match my photos. I also had a blast using the circular elements from both kits to add to the fun layers of circles.
