Hello and welcome to the Thirty-Second edition of our fun series: Mix It Up Monday! We love to show you how easy it is to mix and match TRD collections to create something new and wonderful!

For this month’s mash-up, it was a no-brainer to pair up the brand new Our Story Matters collection with the OG storytelling collection: My Story Matters! While slightly different in color tone, these two collections pair up magically to create one super collection filled with gorgeous icons and papers that will have you creating again and again!

I love how seamlessly I could mix and match these two collections. I used photos of my past traditional scrapbook pages. I created several clusters of elements tucked here and there. I used the TN papers on both collections, the flowers, stickers, and elements. Everything is perfect for documenting our treasured memories.

Today for MIUM we are playing with the new Our Story Matters and My Story Matters collections. These two collections work together perfectly. The colors pair together beautifully, and both collections have plenty of ephemera to document all of your special memories. For my layout I combined papers from both collections with a mixed media background created from the Our Story Matters digital collection. I pulled florals and other ephemera from both collections sticker and digital collections to embellish my page. I think the two collections blended seamlessly. I adore the finished project.

I absolutely love how seamlessly the new Our Story Matters collection pairs with the older My Story Matters collection! Both feature some similar colors including a gorgeous, warm dark peachy hue, which made it easy to pull coordinating papers from each line. From there, I decided to incorporate accents of blue and yellow—colors that appear in both collections—to create a beautiful contrast and add extra depth. The way these collections complement each other makes mixing and matching so much fun, bringing a fresh yet cohesive feel to any project!

My jumping off point for this layout was the funny faces photo strip sticker from the Our Story Matters collection. From there, I just kept pulling papers and embellishments from both collections until I felt like my page was balanced. This was extremely easy to do, since the collections colour palettes coordinate so well together. If you’re not deeply familiar with each separate collection, I bet you wouldn’t even be able to tell which element came from each one!

Beyond just the titles of the kits -- MY Story vs OUR Story -- these kids blended so nicely together! The colors just fed off of each other so well-- bright and happy all around. For this layout, I really wanted to focus on the FLORALS included in the kits -- specifically, the floral elements! I tried to mix and match both kits as much as possible with those floral accents, and I had to cut myself back a bit and not include EVERY single one -- it was hard! I also used the film strip background paper because 1) It’s my favorite paper in the entire kit, and 2) I wanted to use a variety of photos from 2024 to go with my journaling, and I thought using a film strip would play off of that nicely. It also allowed me to use every. Single. Color. In the kits, because they are in that background paper!

I already knew I wanted to pick an older photo and surround it with color from Traci’s My Story Matters and Our Story Matters kit. I love paint and patterned papers so I picked those first to place on my page. I purposely resized my photo down to a smaller size and edited it in black and white. I wanted the colors of all the elements to surround the photo but did not want the photo to clash with the colors. I had a design in mind and love how this page turned out.
