Mix It Up Monday: Oh, What Fun + Christmas & Winter!
Hello and welcome to the Twenty-Ninth edition of our fun series: Mix It Up Monday! We love to show you how easy it is to mix and match TRD collections to create something new and wonderful! Today we’re working with the Oh, What Fun! collection and combining it with any and all Christmas or Winter collections from the store!
Check out the team’s examples below and I can’t wait to see you mix these two collections up too!
Cassie - Festive
I combined the new Oh, What Fun! collection with the Festive collection for this layout. I pulled out papers from both collections to create this ripped paper tree. I also used three patterns for the background layers. The die cut stickers are from the Festive collection. I created a title with the Oh, What Fun! Holiday Alphas. As a final touch I added some sequins around the layout. I love how well these two collections work together!
Theresa - Candy Coated Christmas
The Oh What Fun! collection is such a versatile collection I truly believe it will go with anything! I chose to combine it with Candy Coated Christmas for this layout documenting December Day 20 in my 2023 album. The colors are beautifully matched and they both contain gingerbread icons, which I thought would fit the theme of the story well. I created my background using a patterned paper from Candy Coated Christmas along with the paint and sprinkles from Oh What Fun! The elements are all taken from both collections, choosing the words and icons that made me smile! For my journaling I’ve used a travelers notebook signature from Oh What Fun! which is now an insert for the album. Definitely a fun and sweet layout for this December day!
Nikki - Hygge Season
I used Traci Reed’s brand new collection, Oh, What Fun! and Hygge Season to create this 12x12 layout. I absolutely love the colours in Hygge season so I collected my favourite papers and a few coordinating ones from Oh, What Fun! to create this rolled up paper design! I absolutely love this fun idea and feel like it represents the rolling of gingerbread dough so well! The background was printed on vellum and just torn around the edges, I’ve been loving this technique lately. The die cuts and stickers are a mix of both collections; I was so happy to find a string of lights in both collections to keep it cohesive. Finally, I used the gingerbread alpha from Oh, What Fun! and the sparkly alpha from Hygge Season to bring together Baking Memories and tell this fun story about my daughters making gingerbread people.

Oh What Fun was so easy to mix into Festive. I love the deep colors from Oh What Fun and how they played off the pinks found within the Festive collection. I chose three patterns from Oh What Fun and Festive’s Travelers Notebook papers as they were already a perfect size for behind my 4” square photos. The Festive collection has these little button alphas that were a perfect fit alongside the gingerbread alphas from Oh What Fun to create a fun and dimensional title area for my layout. I printed some of the labels from Festive to mix in with the stickers from Oh What Fun to cluster across my entire double page layout, choosing pieces that worked well with some of the icons on my kids Christmas pajamas that year.
