Mix It Up Monday: Flower Child + Sunkissed

Hello and welcome to the Twenty-Fourth edition of our fun series: Mix It Up Monday! It’s no secret I get pretty hippie-dippy in the summer so combining the Flower Child and Sunkissed collections was a no-brainer! These two gorgeous collections have palettes that work with and expand upon each other in a lovely way and I don’t think the team had any trouble at all combining them together!

Check out the team’s examples below and I can’t wait to see you mix these two collections up too!

Traci

These two collections work so well together, you would think I designed them to coordinate! For my page, I wanted to make sure to incorporate the blues in the Flower Child collection with the coordinating colors in the Sunkissed collection, so I created this color burst layout with papers from both collections. From there, I mixed and matched the stickers and some digital embellishments from both kits for the page!

Sunkissed and Flower Child are a perfect marriage of soft pastels and bold bright palettes that combine effortlessly to create a perfect summer layout. I was inspired by the bold rainbow and the beautiful soft florals. The subtle color differences between the collections are a perfect way to add a bit of happy to any project!

The retro feels of the Flower Child collection and the chill summer vibes from Sunkissed collection blend together so perfectly and matched these photos of my son wearing John Lennon-esque sunglasses I knew I wanted to use them all together. It was really hard choosing my journaling cards and pattern cards because every quote and pattern seemed to work so well! I eventually printed the sunglass pattern card from the Sunkissed collection and a journaling card from Flower Child. I printed my sticker sheets at a width of 4½ not only to make sure I could fit two sheets per page, but to also size down my embellishments to fit on a smaller size layout such as these pocket pages.

When combining two or more of Traci’s collections, I always like to start with spark inspiration from one collection. My spark for this layout was a travellers notebook signature from Sunkissed that said “Don’t worry, Be happy”.

My original intention was to create a grid of papers from both collections in the centre of my card stock , with a pull out tag that utilised the TN signature as a title (with my journalling hidden on the back).

When I started with the grid of papers, I loved the softness so much but I decided to add stitching in between the 2 inch squares which meant I couldn’t create the pocket I’d planned for. Instead I decided to work with labels from the Flower Child collection to house a shorter version of my story and use the sentiment from the TN signature as my title - just with alphas instead.

I absolutely love the way these two collections go together and I know I will be combining them this summer for more projects particularly to use those cocktail die cuts from the Sunkissed collection. They are some of my favourites ever!

I’m looking forward to seeing how other members of the team combine these two cute collections together … why not join in and have a go too?
