Memory Keeping On The Go with Cathy!
If you are in the stage of life where you are spending way too much time in your vehicle driving around teens, tweens and toddlers then this post is for you. I am currently in the phase where I desperately miss my blocks of time in my craft room. Those hours are few and far between. It’s the exact reason why I have been moving away from traditional scrapbooking and moving towards digital scrapbooking. For now, I land perfectly in the middle where I am happy to be as a hybrid memory keeper.
With Traci’s digital kits and products, I can now bring limited items with me to start the creative process on the go.
So, here I am in Toronto, Canada and flying to Braga, Portugal tomorrow proudly cutting embellishments in my hotel room. Before I left, I printed a couple digital kits and brought a base kit which included adhesive, a nail file, baker’s twine and a pair of scissors. That’s all that I needed in order to begin the creative process. Other times, I have brought photos that were already printed. You can see above what I brought to the hotel this month in a large plastic baggie!
It simply feels so good. To make time to create.
For this month’s project, I zoned in on what Traci does best and that is provides a full kit with everything you need to create something beautiful. The latest release, Moonlit, is exactly the kind of paper lines that I was looking for to help my daughter create a “last day of grade seven” album.
On this particular trip, my goal was to create the foundation pages so that when I get home, I can print the pictures and add them in quickly. Often when I do that, I will be sure to use plain white paper to remind myself where I’d like photos to be placed. I also don’t use a lot of adhesives in case I want to place embellishments under the pieces.
The blues and purples of Moonlit is so pretty. I had a really hard time deciding what should or shouldn’t be covered up.
Finally, in order to make the album I cut out the traveller’s notebook pages and then glued them back to back and folding them in half. With the baker’s twine, I created a couple holes in order to create a spine.
I just love this size and love this collection. Its perfect for this one day event!! Gorgeous!
Have a wonderful day and be sure to try to find creative time even when your schedule is impossible. I am feeling this so much lately and I simply know that I need to continue down this path of making memory keeping a little simpler and easier. It does my heart so much good.
Until next time,
Cathy
