Let's Talk Texture with Vanessa!
When working with hybrid scrapbook pages, I often look for ways to enhance my layouts using texture. Adding texture not only enhances the visual appeal of a layout but engages the senses, giving your page a tactile experience. For my page today I am working with the new Fierce collection. Traci is the queen of stunning rainbow papers so I could not resist creating a Disney page.
To start my page, I printed the grid rainbow paper from the collection, grabbed a stencil and some shimmer paint to add some subtle dimension to the background.
Once the background dried, I added some distress oxide splatters and then went to work adding additional texture. First, I die cut several circles using papers from the collection in a rainbow of colors. Once all the circles were cut, I used an edge distress tool to add some texture to all the papers.
Lastly, to add even more texture and play up the tactile feels of the page I used colored twine and wrapped three of the circles before adhering everything to the page.
With everything in place, I added a few additional embellishments and finished the page with some enamel dots. I hope this layout inspires you to experiment with different types of materials to create texture on your pages.
