Chasing Inspiration to Design Creative Layouts with Noemi
Hello! I’m so excited to share this project with you because the creative process was incredibly fun. When we look for inspiration, it’s common to head to Instagram or Pinterest, but sometimes I like to draw ideas from other crafting techniques beyond just scrapbooking.
To make sure the design was centered, I created a template and attached it diagonally on a 12x12-inch sheet of white cardstock using washi tape. Then, to mark the cutting guides, I used a needle to poke holes in the corners of the squares and used that as a reference to cut the lines with a cutter. I have a surprise for you! Here’s the template so you can print it on letter-sized paper and create your own version of this project!

Here comes the most fun part. Since I used a white background, I wanted to create a lot of contrast with bright colors inside the paper cuts. As its name suggests, the Keep Chasing Rainbows collection includes papers in all the colors of the rainbow, which fit perfectly with my idea. I glued a square of paper of each color on the back, then carefully lifted the corners of the cuts to create an amazing 3D effect.
Finally, to frame the composition, I added half-inch-wide strips around the entire edge of the paper in rainbow order to continue that theme. I added photos, the title, and a few extra decorations. The result is a layout full of color and texture, fun to make and to look at! I hope this project inspires you to seek out inspiration and transform it to fit your own creative needs.
