Haunting Chat-GPT Inspired Instagram Hop!
Hey Hey Hey! It's Haunting Saturday today and the TRD team is trying out a BRAND NEW ChatGPT-inspired Instagram Hop!
Yes you read that right! We asked ChatGPT to give us layout ideas for the Haunting collection and it came up with some pretty inspiring (and sometimes hilarious) prompts, complete with embellishment ideas!!
Check out all the prompts and layouts below!

“Frightful Friends:” Frame the photos with spiderweb lace or use ghost-shaped photo corners.
This prompt was an easy one to follow, as my kitty, Apollo, recently gave us quite a fright! He had a near-death experience caused by anxiety-related health issues, so the “Don’t Be Such A Scaredy Cat” Cut file was perfect for this page AND the “frightful friends” part of the prompt.
I cut out the cat on black cardstock and made a shaker pocket with a sequin mix I created to match the Haunting collection and then paired that page with a straightforward page with my photo and journaling, leaning into the spiderwebs as the prompt suggested!

“Ghoulish Grins:” Experiment with different lighting effects in your photos, like candlelight or flashlight, for eerie glows.
My ChatGPT prompt was Goulish Grins. I was instructed to play around with lighting my face from below with a flashlight or candle. I decided to use a flashlight. I lit up my face and smiled which turned out super creepy. Then I took one with a roaring face, which was also pretty scary. What a fun prompt this was.

“Witchy Vibes:” Add a witch's hat as a 3D embellishment and use a cauldron-shaped journaling card.
Hi friends! My challenge was to create a witch’s hat as a 3D embellishment and then use a cauldron shaped journaling card. I created a foundation page for this year’s October Daily and wanted this witch’s hat from the Wicked Cut Files to really shine on this page. So I made it into a sequin witch hat! I cut out the hat about 5 times with plain black card stock to create the pocket for the sequins. After gluing them all together I added these super fun sequins from Trinity Stamps. The hat is backed with one of the patterned papers in the Haunting collection, and I love how it just barely peeks through the vellum that seals in the sequins. To give the hat stability I layered it onto a transparency that is printed with that gorgeous plaid patterned paper, and then I’ve added a few fun embellishments around the hat. Did you notice the spider has sequins too? I don’t know any sequin spiders! Ha! Since this is a foundation page, it’s not complete yet, but I do plan to add the cauldron shaped journaling card along with my photo for the day when the time comes. I can’t wait!

“Halloween Treats:” Include recipe cards as journaling spots and decorate with candy-themed stickers.
As soon as I saw this prompt I knew that I wanted to run with the recipe card idea and have a play in Canva with the digital kit which I haven’t done before. It was actually quite easy to pull in the embellishments and papers from the digi kit to create the recipe card. Once I had done that I printed it out and decided to use it to make a double page spread in my October Occasionally album. I printed out a TN signature for the left hand page and to pull the two pages together did a border of the green spotty paper and added plenty of the candy embellishments from the sticker pack. I also printed and cut some of the holographic stars from the digi kit and added them to both sides of the spread along with EEK! as a title. For a final touch of sparkle I added some tiny gold sequin hearts from my stash.

“Halloween Decor: Document your home's Halloween decorations and how you've transformed it into a spooky haven.”
My prompt for this hop was to focus on home decor and how I use it to spookify our home.
I knew I wanted to include quite a few photos and so I opted for an interactive/ flip-up page for my 6x8 album.
This gave me the opportunity to use lots of papers and embellishments.
I adore the palette for this collection - especially that it includes a touch of pink and teal … as I have decorated my craft room in black and white with those two colours as my accent … Haunting is the perfect collection for me to document October Daily this year and so I combined that album with this prompt !!!
The die cut/sticker packs are HUGE in this collection so there are lots of fun things to embellish pages with. I love how working with printables means I can embellish without the bulk of chipboard or puffy stickers.

“Trick-or-Treat Memories:” Incorporate real candy wrappers or candy-themed patterned paper into the layout.
For my prompt, I had - Trick-or-Treat Memories: Incorporate real candy wrappers or candy-themed patterned paper into the layout. I immediately knew which memory I wanted to document with this prompt… my son’s first time hitting the “jackpot” level on his candy bag!
As you can probably tell, I’m a digital scrapbooker, so actual candy wrappers weren’t going to make it onto my page, BUT I included a photo of a whole bunch of them and used candy themed paper to cover the cut file I used to make my title. To continue the candy theme, I included the candy bucket and individual candy elements from the digital kit.

“Halloween Movie Night:” Incorporate mini popcorn bags as pockets for hidden journaling or additional photos.
My prompt for the hop was Halloween Movie Night. I decided to use one of the traveler’s notebook signatures to create my top ten favorite spooky movies/tv shows. Then I searched the internet to find movie poster images which I backed on black paper to give a film-strip effect. I clustered some of the stickers from the collection to the middle of the layout, and the result was a pretty quick layout that highlights some great movies to watch in October!

“Candy Corn Delight:” Create a candy corn border around your photos using triangular paper pieces.
I choose the prompt about candy corn. This one jumped out to me when Chatgpt mentioned it because my two boy and I LOVE candy corn when it seems like the rest of the world hates it haha! When I put out the candy jars they checked them daily for that first bag of candy corn to hit them and when it did that little bag didn’t have a chance! So this is my little guy holding what he thinks a hand full is and what his brother and I always yell at him about as he takes tooo much!!!

“Halloween in Different Decades:” Explore how Halloween celebrations have evolved over the years. Include photos from past Halloweens in your family, comparing costumes, decorations, and traditions from different decades.
I have been waiting to scrap this sweet photo of my younger sister for a long time, waiting for just the right collection. Once I saw the cute little boots and striped stockings icon in the Haunting Collection, I knew I had discovered the perfect match for this photo.
This photo was taken in 1980 or 1981, when our hometown still had a Halloween parade. Back then, all the children from the schools would parade down the highway in their Halloween finery. Our town was small, so stopping traffic for a parade on the main thoroughfare wasn’t cause for complaining but was a way of gathering with family and friends. The parades that we still have in town are off the main highway, and there certainly is no longer a Halloween parade.
In the early 80’s, there weren’t many costume options like there is now, so most of the costumes were handmade. My sister was a huge fan of Raggedy Ann, so she had on some white bloomers and shirt with a red sweater, a yarn wig, some smeared makeup, and those fabulous white tights painted with red stripes.
I chose a variety of patterned papers to layer behind the photo as well as adding mixed media in the background to mimic the hand painted striped tights. I added three different areas to journal: a tag, a ticket, and a journal card. I finished off with loads of floral stickers and flowers, along with lots of starts and a fun bead word art for my title.
