December Daily 2024 | Day 03

I mostly like to keep my December Daily stories holiday or seasonally-related, but this small story felt like a bit of a Christmas Miracle so I felt like it was the perfect place to tell it. My oldest daughter got a new job after working a soul-crushing one for a few months and as someone with a few differences that make her stand out from the crowd, getting a new job is somewhat of a feat. Getting a job at a place that might actually be FUN is a JOY!

December Daily 2024 | Day 03

For this page, we’re working with the back of yesterday’s page that includes vellum journaling. If you know me, you know I HATE seeing the backs of things, so I needed a creative way to cover up the journaling without detracting from it on the other side.

I came up with the idea to use a 3x8 page protector to create a shaker pocket with some themed sequins (using extra-large snowflakes to really fill the space vertically too.)

I stitched all the way around the page protector with red thread again and

For the other half of the page, I printed my photo at 3.75x8.5” with room for the holes so that my journaling wouldn’t get punched through. Before printing, I added the numbers and a patterned doily from the Oh, What Fun! digital kit to the photo at the bottom - easy-peasy!

Lastly, I placed a chipboard snowflake in the center on the outside just to ground it. After having it on there for a few days with just glue, it kept falling off, so I did end up stapling it there instead.
