December Daily 2021: Day 9 | Baking Spirits Bright
I love including recipes in my seasonal albums and this year, Finn and I are baking our way through United Cakes of America by Warren Brown in order of statehood (of course,because we are HUGE NERDS and also sugar addicts) and Connecticut’s Nutmeg Spice cupcakes just happened to fall in mid-December, which was very convenient because they were deliciously festive!
I decided to tie day 9 into day 8’s page by again using a TN card from the Comfort & Joy Digitals from Citrus Twist as a divider/segue into the layout that I designed with the Candy Coated Christmas Collection because the colors in the card coordinated with both pages nicely. I added my journaling and a photo of Finn decorating cupcakes to the front.
On the other side of the divider is a TN Signature from the Candy Coated Christmas Collection on which I printed the recipe. Because I only had a couple photos, I decided that this would be a fun spread to add some fun embellishment to in the form of see-through pockets!
I used a 3x4 pocket page protector and added a card/photo in opposite corners, then added two “floating” embellishments by adhering them to acetate before sticking them in the pocket.
Finally, I added this adorable Hey Santa sequin/polymer mix from The Inner Creativity Shop into the top pocket and sealed it with my fuse tool to make a shaker pocket!
Pro tip: I also adhered my “day 10” gold-foiled December Days stamp from the Candy Coated Christmas Collection to the other side of the “day 9” BEFORE closing the pocket!
