December Daily 2022: Day 21

Today I combined two stories I wanted to tell into one spread, both revolving around the animals. I told the story of the insane cold snap through the eyes of my dogs (who were very unimpressed) and paired it with the story of my cats’ never-ending war on the Christmas tree. The center divider serves a dual purpose because on one side it says “hello winter” and the trees and glitter look frosty, but when you turn the page, the trees stand alone and work with the Christmas tree photo!

Day 21

The front side was super easy to put together thanks to these foundation cards/pages I made in my Stress-Free December Daily Prep Day 7 Video - the work was mostly done for me and I just had to add photos!

I love this photo of my husband and Libby so it had to make an appearance. This card was already done, I just had to add the photo and heart!

And of course, it’s not a Traci page if I don’t add some sort of interactivity, so a flip up 3x4 and bonus photo of snuggled up Libby!

I did end up backing the hello winter see-through portion of the shaker page with patterned paper on both sides because I hate seeing the back side of things, plus it gave me a place to put my title for the other side!

The 21 was cut from the number paper included in the CTK Winter Magic Digital Paper with a 1” circle punch.

I had a ton of fun on the other side of the page stamping a bold title with the Citrus Twist 4" X 6" HARLOWE ALPHABET Stamp. The paper on this side of the shaker pocket actually is the same paper that I printed on acetate during my prep video and placed in the shaker pockets - love the consistency.

You can see it really well in the close ups!

I watercolored the trees from the CTK Trim the Tree Cut Files to match my page using inks from Catherine Pooler for an interesting and subtle touch to the page and then placed my photo over the top.

Twine wrapped around the photo adds a textural detail that makes the page pop!
