Well no one wanted to try our little smiles game, but I thought I would post the answers in case you were curious.
Hmm… breakfast… for me and my family, breakfast is our most favorite meal… we could eat it morning, noon and night! I’m really happy to see that they dedicated a whole month to it… it is the most important meal of the day, you know! Ha, ha, ha! So… today I thought it would be fun to poll some of the HAWT Mamas to find out, what is their favorite breakfast!
Heidi (scrappurple) – In our house it is waffles. Every Saturday morning I make waffles. If for some reason they don’t get made, the house falls apart. My secret recipe you ask??? Bisquick! LOL!
Lydia (ltarbox) – My grandma used to make the most amazing trout filets for breakfast. I know it sounds kinda weird, but she was an amazing cook, and every time we went to visit, it was a special treat if she made fish for breakfast. One time, I took a boyfriend up there to visit and told him that if we were lucky, we’d get fish for breakfast. He looked at me like I was crazy. But, we did get fish for breakfast, and he changed his tune pretty quick.
For a regular breakfast, I like the traditional eggs, bacon, toast, OJ – that kind of stuff.
Tracy (tracyfish) - True southern girl here…I like my eggs over easy on top of a big bowl of grits. And if there is cheese around to put on top, that makes me happy.
Giseli Freitas – ummmm my favorite is corn flakes with a splash of milk + a sliced banana or strawberries + honey or cane syrup. But I really don’t like to have breakfast. It’s not the most important meal here anyway…
Heather (heathergw) – Huevos Rancheros
Angie (nun69) – We have either “up” {scrambled} or “down”{over easy} eggs with bacon, toast and Orange Pineapple Juice! My son didn’t really know how to explain the way he wanted eggs when he was around 4 and so he came up with “up” or “down” eggs and we have been calling them every since! And we try to have this at least one day every weekend.
Traci Reed – I like the egg and potato scrambles like at Denny’s LOL
Kristen (kbbeale) – My favorite way to fix breakfast is eggs over easy, nice and runny on top of hash browns. Mash them all up together and voila! Yummo. Daddy is in charge of making pancakes or waffles on the weekend. Kind of a tradition here.
Rebecca (mamabee) - Most Saturdays, my husband will make eggs (scrambled for kiddo and me, over easy for him), toast, and bacon for breakfast. We sit around the table and discuss our plans for the weekend. My hubby also loves to go out to Perkins where every single time he orders a ham and cheese omelet, kiddo almost always gets pancakes… and me? Oh, I’m all over the menu… LOL! I love breakfast foods!!
So… what is your favorite breakfast?!?
Hope you enjoy!

Heather(gw) here with an exciting new feature we wanted to bring to you. Every month we will bring you some photography tips and tutorials in regards to scrapbooking. Photography is one of my favorite hobbies and is what got me started in scrapbooking and we hope to bring you some new and fresh ideas and pointers that we’ve found have helped us along the way.
My first tip would be the importance of getting in close to your subject. There are two reasons for this. The first would be photo quality when you crop a photo to fit a frame and the second would be to avoid distracting items in the background or foreground.
Let me show you some examples of what I mean.
Here’s my first photo. What am I taking a photo of, you ask? Could it be the deck we tore out this weekend or the pretty patio door we had put in or is it the pot of basil?
If you guessed the pot of basil, you’re correct… here’s my pic when I got in close…
Now let’s see what they look like when I crop them into an awesome frame by Traci (this frame comes from The Soundtrack of Our Lives – 247365)
Here’s what it looks like with the first photo
and with the second photo… check out how much better the photo quality is, you can even see the engraving in the side of the pot
Now to show you what I mean by distractions in the background or foreground… in these photos I wanted to take a photo of our bird feeder. Here it is from far away, check out the remains of our deck, lol!
and my second photo is getting in closer and zooming in a bit, so now all you see is the bird feeder and none of the shadows or my deck or the house behind me
For photos of people it’s the same thing, get in close and I think you’ll like the results… you’ll get photos of your kiddos without the toys all over the floor or clearer photos when you crop in close to fit someone’s face inside a frame.
I hope you’ve enjoyed these pointers and we would love to hear from you about future photo tutorials or tips that you’d like to see from us. Feel free to leave comments here or contact one of us with what you’d like to see.
