Hey everyone, Sonja here with my first blog post as a Hawt Mama! Sorry this is so late today, but the title may explain why. hehee Today is Working Women’s Day on the Hawt Mama Blog, and I had to work today. It’s a little more chaotic for me this week, since my husband is out of town until Thursday, and he never goes out of town (he had to travel to see a hand specialist due to an injury he received at work back in January). So I have had to deal with the kiddos myself, arrange for sitters for them while I was at work, because it is also Spring Break here. I know … crazy! Amazingly, I am looking forward to escaping to work over the next two weeks! hehehe
So I figured I would share some photos from my work. I work 5 days a week, part-time, as an office secretary. I love my job!! The company I work for sells (and services, through a different division) steel wearable parts to the five local open-pit coal mines in the area. Basically, any parts of the shovels and buckets that would wear down over time and use, we do that.

Did you know that March is Youth Art Month? For me, art is a very important aspect of life that I want to instill this in my child. He doesn’t have to be a famous artist, but I do want him to be able to express himself creatively… and hopefully a passion of photos and [...] [...more]
Did you know that March is Youth Art Month? For me, art is a very important aspect of life that I want to instill this in my child. He doesn’t have to be a famous artist, but I do want him to be able to express himself creatively… and hopefully a passion of photos and memory keeping would be included in that list! Right now he is only three and his “art” includes scribes on paper (hopefully not the wall) and mixing up all the colors of play dough.
So, in honor of this month, we are showing layouts (using Traci’s kits) of our youngsters getting their creative side on!

Hi all, Laura here with some fun to share! As soon as I saw that today was Dr. Seuss’ birthday, I knew I wanted to be the one to post about it. If you’re not familiar, Dr. Seuss is the mastermind responsible for some REALLY fabulous children’s stories such as Hop on Pop and Cat in the Hat.
I found a fun website for some Seuss facts and games and it looks like a blast for not only the kids but for parents, too! You can have a look at Seussville HERE.
Also if you haven’t experienced a Dr. Seuss book yet or just not recently, here are a couple of my favorites:
I love the whimsical feel to all of these books. The rhyming is outstanding, and the world Dr. Seuss created with his words sticks in your mind forever. Happy reading!

I know that both Traci and I LOVE photography. So this month, I want to help us grow in our photography skills. Your challenge is to capture an action shot. Not only an action shot, but I want at least 3 consecutive action shots on your layout. It could be your child swinging a bat at the ball, you child tyring to walk and falling, trying a new food and spitting it out, etc. You choose what you want to capture. I realize that not all cameras shoot as fast as a DSL, so do your best with what you have. It is all about improving our photography skills and then scrapping the moment!! When you are done, leave a comment with a link to your layout here. A winner will be announce in April! Now while you don’t have to use Traci’s products, we really, really love it when you do! It inspires us to see how Traci’s kits are used! Here is my layout … I took these pictures of my daughter and niece jumping into a snow bank:
