Well go ahead and indulge because today is National Junk Food Day! While it’s not so good for our waistlines, junk food is one of America’s favorite things – and eating must rank right up there as a favorite past time too! Everyone has their own weakness – some like it sweet, some like it salty, and some like that perfect mix of both. Right now I’m just trying to avoid the chocolate chip cookies that my daughter is baking for the county fair. They are mocking me from the kitchen as I type!

Wahoo! What a great day~ National lollipop day! I couldn’t figure out who started the holiday or when, or why, but there are many mentions of it online so I guess it’s true. So, go out and eat a lollipop today – you know you want to! I highly recommend a Tootsie Pop, but any lollipop will do. When was the last time you had a lollipop? I think it’s time to raid my candy stash and go grab one! When I was a little girl one of my favorite suckers was the rocket pops, anyone remember those? They were muticoloured and in the shape of a rocket and pure, sweet, caramalized sugarey goodness!!! I didn’t have very good teeth as a young girl, many cavities, and all back teeth capped…anyways, I am sure you know where this story is headed, LOL! I used to like to chew them, I bit down into the rocket pop, and it got stuck….really stuck!! As I pulld it out, I also pulled the cap out….try explaining that to your mother and your dentist! LOL.

Happy National Hug Your Kid day!!! Or… as my 3 year old calls it… “huggie?” I don’t know what I anticipated more as a parent… hearing my child utter the words, “I love you, mama”… or that first real hug! Of course… as a mama, I’m expected to give comfort and hugs… so Daddy gets more hugs than me, though I’m not bitter. LOL!
