Every year I decide I’m going to partake in Project Life and this year will be my third year completing it! I’m excited by the prospect of capturing my families memories and creating my albums.
Last year was the first year that I did my Project Life traditionally. I’ve always been a digital scrapbooker – no paper scrapping in my house with 5 young children around! However, with the kids growing up, and meeting a really lovely pocket scrapbooker named Lisa Webb, I branched out into traditional pocket scrapping last year! I love the feel of the papers, cards, and embellishments. I might have gone a little (ok a lot) overboard buying Project Life Kits and all types of embellishments. It’s also possible the employees at the local scrapbooking shop know me by first name now!
For 2015 I’m shaking things up and I’m taking a different approach to my scrapping. I’m looking to simplify my process and design just a little! This year I want to add a lot more digital elements to my layouts and to help with that I’ll be using the Silhouette Cameo Santa brought me for Christmas! I can’t wait to use it for printing & cutting embellishments and some of my own designs!
One way I’ve simplified my photo process is by creating all the weekly folders on my computer where I’ll save my photos so they’re ready when it’s time to create my layouts. I found last year this saved me hours of time as I had all my photos saved in one organized spot. It’s easy to just drop them all into Lightroom for editing which only takes me a few minutes! To save YOU the time of creating the folders, I’ve gone and created them all for you. Download the weekly folders to use on your own computer!
This is my biggest tip that I share with all my friends who want to get into Project Life, as the photos are the main reminder of the memory!
What’s your one top tip which you do to simplify you scrapping process?
