I met my husband at work, 13 years after having been divorced and given up on finding true love. He had broken up with his girlfriend, and about a month later, asked me to go out to the comedy club after work with him one night. While I agreed, I told him it “was not a date, that I was old enough to be his mother.” Talk about being hit by Cupid’s arrow! I couldn’t imagine falling so hard and quickly in love with someone. Even though there was a 20 year age difference between us, he wouldn’t hear of my arguments of why we could not make our relationship serious and lasting. He wore me down and finally won the argument when we were married a little over a year later on my birthday. We’ve been together for going on 14 years now and have never had a serious argument. My sister says we’re “freaks.” I couldn’t imagine being happier with my soul mate.
